The ENVE Demo program allows you to ride ENVE on your own bike, on your own terms. Therefore, we invite you to put the ENVE wheelset of your choice through the paces and feel the ENVE difference in the real world.

- ENVE Customer Service will contact you to give a brief wheel specification consultation
- ENVE will deliver your demo wheelset within 3 business days
- Upon receipt you will have 14 days to demo your wheelset
- Upon completion of 14 day demo period, repackage and return wheelset to ENVE using provided return shipping label
- *Purchase within 60 days and demo fee will be credited back to you

Rebellious, unconventional, and pioneering are words that describe the one of its kind SES 4.5 AR Disc. Conceptualized for the cobbles of Paris-Roubaix through our partnership with Team Dimension Data, the SES 4.5 AR Disc was developed to deliver top shelf aero performance, stability, and comfort for virtually any road surface. The SES 4.5 AR Disc is available as a tubeless clincher and tubular model rim. The SES 4.5 AR Disc borrows from ENVE M Series carbon mountain wheel tubeless technology and features hookless beads. Hookless beads improve aerodynamic performance by aiding airflow from tire to rim as well as allow for the best tubeless tire performance possible. Like all Smart ENVE System aero wheels, the front and rear rims are specifically designed for the airflow seen at the front and back of the bike. As such, the front rim is more shallow and wider to maximize stability and the rear is deeper and narrower to aid in drag reduction. In addition to dissimilar geometries, the SES 4.5 AR Disc features a disc brake specific construction that saves weight, improves strength, and creates an unprecedented ride quality.

Carbon brake tracks dictate a lot of rim design. By taking them away and re-engineering the rim we have improved the lateral stiffness, the impact resistance and the weight by 40-60g per rim. While disc hubs mean that total wheelset weights will remain near identical between rim and disc brake wheelsets, the disc brake wheelset will feel more responsive in acceleration, steering and braking because the mass has been shifted from the rim (higher rotational inertia) to the hub (lower rotational inertia).

Perhaps the ultimate all-round, high performance wheelset, the 4.5 debuted the second generation SES profile. It delivers outright class-leading speed while retaining a very low weight and incredible stability. No wonder it’s the go-to wheel for Team Dimension Data.
The all-new SES rim profile has a significantly revised curvature and increased widths that are optimized for 25mm tires in modern frames with greater clearances. This allows air to flow smoothly over the rim – it remains ‘attached’ – even at high crosswind angles and to reattach quicker after a strong side gust. These important advances make the 4.5 both extremely fast and stable for its depth. In challenging conditions, wind-steer is all but eliminated and side force builds and releases smoothly and predictably, so you can ride and race with complete confidence.
How fast is the 4.5? Compared to the first line of SES wheels, the 4.5 essentially matches the aerodynamics of the older 6.7, which was itself ballistic yet much deeper at 60mm front and 70mm rear, and of course heavier with it. Nothing of a similar depth or weight gets close to the speed of the 4.5.

The All-Road version of the 4.5 was designed for the cobbles of Paris-Roubaix and for just about anywhere you care to point it, from gravel to dirt to bad, old roads. While the pros still ride tubulars, for everyone else taking on varied surfaces tubeless is a no-brainer because you can run lower pressures and achieve greater comfort, grip and, with sealant, resistance to pinch and debris punctures, all without sacrificing speed.
Drawing on our experience designing and making the world’s best mountain bike rims, the SES 4.5 AR Disc features a hookless bead profile and tire-bed bead seat lock. This design prevents air loss from impacts or aggressive cornering loads, allows for an exacting tire and rim interface, improves air flow from tire to rim and saves weight. Non-tubeless clincher tires are not recommended but tubeless tires can still be used with tubes.
ENVE recognized early that road tubeless technology is here to stay. With rims going wider and frames giving more tire clearance, the key aspects of bike design were aligned to make tubeless the best choice: wider rims make it easier to mount tubeless tires. Disc brakes add even more benefits for tubeless, typically allowing larger tires as well as removing issues of heat at the rim.
