Limited Edition Details

What is it?

The ultimate carbon fiber cross-country and marathon wheelset

Who is it for?

Mountain bikers who ride short travel bikes, low volume tires, and long distances

Why did we make it?

Because cross-country riding and racing is most fun when your equipment allows you to ride how and what you want to. We believe the best cross-country wheelset should inspire confidence regardless of the terrain or race course. As such, the M50 is equally adept descending as it is ascending. The M50 is light, but not at the expense of strength; stiff but not to the detriment of comfort.

People Are Saying…

"Racing the World Cup is demanding on wheels and the M50 has exceeded all expectations. If a product is wrong I hear about it, but my racers don't talk about the M50s because they just perform."

– Cannondale Factory Racing

"Once again I’ll say that there really are no better mountain wheels on the market right now than the M-Series, and I’ve tried a lot of them."

The ENVE M50 Fifty is a fast, cross-country specific carbon fiber mountain bike rim that plays host to new ENVE technologies and promises a ride experience second to none for XC riding and racing on hardtails and short travel suspension mountain bikes. The ENVE M50 Fifty features ENVE’s patented molded spoke hole technology that allows for much better strength to weight ratio than other rims, as the carbon fibers are not drilled (and subsequently broken) to accommodate spokes. Given that the typical XC racer chooses a 29″ hardtail or short-travel suspension bike as their bike of choice the ENVE M50 features a full uni-directional carbon fiber construction and laminate design that provides more dampening and comfort for long hours spent in the saddle racing and training. Further, ENVE uses a removable bladder system and never uses paint or filler on our carbon rims. The result is a weight savings of approximately 120g per wheelset. Because cross-country racers and riders need equal performance on the climb and on the descent, the M50 Fifty is both lightweight and stiff, but strong and durable for uncompromising downhill performance. The M50 is tubeless compatible and features a hookless design for superior tubeless performance. The ENVE M50 is proudly manufactured in the USA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply The Best I've raced these wheels all over the World this year, and they have been absolutely phenomenal. I have complete confidence in them. They are light, stiff and fast, they confidently track and I never have problems burping tires. Looking forward to riding them to the Olympics in 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great wheels I have been riding Enve wheels for about 5 years now, with zero problems. I've never even had to re-tension the spokes. And I hear the same report from everyone I talk to who uses them. They track extremely well in a straight line and also allow you to confidently push hard in the corners. It's easy to mount tubeless tires with one to two layers of tape and I haven't burped a tire yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything you want and need in an xc wheel I've been racing and training on these wheels for XC and endurance since 2014. They are hands down the best xc wheel I've used. Light, stiff, compliant, fast, and easy to seal tires on. The tight bead pop that you get on installation inspires confidence that you will never burp air. Did I mention they are good looking ;)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than just a race wheel After a few years of riding the ENVE AM wheel I got my hands on a pair of M50 wheels. Upon my first ride on the AM's I noticed they track amazingly. The characteristics of the M50 are closer to the AM than their predecessor, the XC. This comes due to their increased rim width. Tubeless set up is fast, painless and there has hardly been a burp. They have never needed time in the true stand. Diving into corners faster, navigating technical areas of trail and out of the saddle acceleration is made easier. The M50's have stood the test over the varied terrain I've put in their way. I highly recommend ENVE wheels to anyone looking to improve their ride. These wheels monster truck the trail!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from M50 are very fast Just did my wheel swap from my 29 inch Stans Arch Ex to a new set of M50s. I am. Strava guy and went on the same course I ride all the time. It is a undulating up and down course, 18 miles long with many timed sections and very rocky and fast descents to long grinding up hills. A great test course for comparison. The M50s gave my Rocky Mountain Instinct 999 MSL with the 10-42 xx1, and a 28 front ring, a completely different feel on the trail. Much more planted overall, tracked straighter on fast descents through rocks and overall a greater sense of control. The most difference felt came in 2 areas. 1. The front wheel was much lighter in rotation and the felt effort to steer at speeds is way less. Same for slow tech sections. The next area was what amazed me. I could on all climb sections , other than the steepest requiring a 42 , I could use a full cog higher! the acceleration of the M50s and the ability to use a full gear higher on the climbs was amazing. My strava times reflected the increase in sustained speed as well with most climbs in the 5-6 seconds faster range overall. That translates into a lot of time over a 2 hour hammer fest. So far I'm very impressed and would recommend to anyone. I weigh a paltry 196 pounds and used to be fast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TOUGH and LIGHT As a bigger guy (6'1" & 180lbs) I need to know my mountain bike wheel will hold up under me. This is my only wheel set, it's on my only mountain bike (hard tail) and I'm pounding on them in training and racing. They have been stellar and perfect, and I'm so thrilled to have an ultra light wheel set under me that I can depend on in all conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So strong! Going from alloy to the original XC carbon rims was a game changer. Totally changing the characteristic of the ride similar to moving from a metal frame to carbon. With the m50's wider profile and tighter bead fit, it tracks even better and the strength and power transfer is amazing. Great on a full suspension, but even more noticeable on a hardtail and cross bike!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Wheel! I have been using this wheel for a few months now and it is amazing!
