WHAT IS IT?

A lightweight, full-carbon mountain stem optimized for the modern mountain bike geometry and ride style.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Mountain bikers looking to optimize their cockpit by saving weight and improving on-trail ride characteristics

WHY DID WE MAKE IT?

We’ve wanted this product for years. We’ve scrapped more prototypes of the ENVE Mountain Stem than any other product in ENVE history. Why? Because we have high performance expectations of this product and it had to be just right. We believed we could create a sub 100 gram carbon fiber stem capable of addressing all mountain applications and we’re proud to say that we've done it.

People Are Saying…

Paired with ENVE's DH bar, the mountain stem dampens, responds and handles better than any cockpit combo I've ever run. Ever. That's kind of a big deal. But the kicker: Is it worth the cost? Absolutely. Overhyped? Only if you haven't ridden it.

– Backcountry.com

"The ENVE carbon stem and riser bar are finely engineered, ultra-light, good looking products that do exactly as they're intended without compromise."

While we won’t go so far as to say that we are the only carbon mountain bike stem on the market, the ENVE Mountain Stem is one of a kind in the aftermarket. While carbon stems have been used for cross-country racing for years this is the first aftermarket execution that is developed for modern long travel trail and enduro mountain bikes. Aside from being unique in this category the stem isn’t carbon fiber just for the sake of carbon fiber. The ENVE Mountain Stem is lighter than the alloy options on the market without any sacrifice to strength. In most cases an alloy stem in the same weight category doesn’t pass our internal qualifications in terms of strength, durability, and stiffness. For these reasons the ENVE Mountain Stem has been introduced to the aftermarket. Each Mountain Stem is produced in Ogden, UT and made of 100% uni-directional carbon fiber. All bladder materials are removed from the body of the stem to ensure that the part is as efficient as possible. The faceplate is cold-forged aluminum for unsurpassed clamping reliability and anti-slip properties. All stem hardware is titanium. On the trail the stem is engineered to dampen vibration and mimic the feedback frequencies and feel of ENVE’s mountain handlebars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, short, solid, and damp This is the best stem/bar combo I have ever ridden. Never mind the unbeatable performance of the climbs and descents but the comfort of long rides. Pounding the pedals from dawn to dusk requires energy and the ENVE Mountain Stem helps save the riders energy by providing a damp ride. This translates to more energy in the legs and longer more fun days on the bike. The weight savings is a plus as is the geometry. I went for a 40mm on my Yeti SB 5c and because of the length it essentially placed my hands behind my axle, giving me the feel and forgiveness of a 6" bike without sacrificing the weight. I finally believe the ladies when they say that short and fat can satisfy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Noticeable dampening I ride fully rigid, so I definitely feel the trail. I had been riding with Enve wheels, a Niner RDO carbon fork (later switched to Enve), Enve carbon bars, and a titanium stem. Generally happy with the set-up, I still noticed some chatter over washboard-like sections of trail. I switched to the Enve mountain stem so that my entire "cockpit" would be carbon, all the way through from the wheel to where my hands rested. Doing this made a VERY noticeable difference (like rattled vs. buttery smooth), which leaves me to conclude that the Enve stem is a heck of a lot more dampening than ti... and exponentially more dampening than aluminum. Even if you are riding with suspension, I expect that you will notice a difference. (I have all four of my bikes decked out with Enve, and every piece of Enve equipment that I have added makes a noticeable improvement. The stuff is expensive, but worth it if you want the best.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect compliment to any Enve handle bar! I have been riding and racing with the Enve AM stem for the past 3 seasons. I ride an XL sized frame, the 40mm AM stem gives me the perfect reach and I love the responsive handling of a shorter stem. This stem is lightweight, durable and smoothens out your ride!
