Hoping to improve upon a successful debut at the 2015 Tour de France, no one could have imagined the accomplishments that Team Dimension Data would garner at the 2016 Tour. The opening day saw Mark Cavendish not only win the stage but also wear the yellow jersey for the first time in his career. Cav continued to add stage wins to his palmarès by narrowly edging out André Greipel on stage 3. With the mountains looming, Cavendish once again showed the field he had one of the fastest finishing kicks in the bunch winning Stage 6. Stage 7 showed the team’s depth with Steve Cummings winning out of a breakaway much in the same fashion as last year’s tour stage victory. Mark brought his tally to 4 stage wins in this year’s race with a victory on Stage 14 making for a total of 30 career stage wins at the Tour de France. Congratulations to Team Dimension Data on a great 2016 Tour de France and 5 stage wins. We look forward to see what the team can do next year!
