XCO Nove Mesto

The road to the cross-country mountain bike Olympic event this August goes through the rooty and rock garden riddled woods of the World Championships in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic. This modern XC course featured sharp punchy climbs and technical descents, a favorite among the world’s best riders since it not only tests their fitness and power, but is a true rider’s course. The course doesn’t allow one to rest with choppy root sections and certainly no mistakes in the gnarly rock gardens. We dropped in with over twenty thousand fans, many of whom were those ‘crazy Czech fans’ to check up on our Cannondale Factory Racing riders.

Nove Mesto has not only hosted top level mountain bikes events in the past, but is a renown stop on both the nordic and biathlon ski World Cups. The racing action was thrilling to watch and the Czech fans proved to us why they are some of the most enthusiastic fans in world.

The Cannondale guys put in a solid showing with Manuel 17th, Marco 18th and Henrique 22nd.
