hexagonal tread
INDEPENDENT TRACKING
De-coupled tread blocks enable the casing to flex and conform to the terrain, maximizing traction and rolling performance. A hexagonal block shape allows a three-way flex pattern to add suppleness to the casing so the tire conforms to varied surface conditions for consistent handling.
TRACTION WHERE YOU NEED IT
Balancing efficient rolling and traction is where the HEX stands out. A cat-tongue tread feature provides both driving and braking traction for confident handling. The 40c and 44c sizes use a scaled tread to ensure the maximum level of traction possible by tire size.
SPEED AND EFFICIENCY
Featuring a sub-tread barrier for anti-flat protection without diminishing the HEX’s rolling efficiency and ride quality. Additionally, the chaffer strip at the tire’s bead is extended to offer a greater level of pinch-flat protection.
FLAT PROTECTION
A nano-particle-enhanced rubber compound reduces rolling resistance, improves traction, and extends tread wear. Combined with a supple casing, the HEX delivers a supple ride quality and rolling efficiency.

100% recommended, went from 42 to 52 which was already a huge change. But changing to this HEX tires gave me the confidence that was needed. Very grippy.
Love these tires so much. Enough grip even in horrible muddy conditions like we had at Farmer’s Daughter this year, but perfect for dry gravel and tarmac. Fast as hell and fairly light for the 44c version.
Great tire overall.
Pros:
Volume: super comfy @ 29/28 psi
Grip for days. Like impressive grip - climbing, cornering, braking.
Round profile - predictable in the corners.
Lightweight for a 48
Great looking tire. I have these mounted up on a set of G23s and the width is a measured 48mm inflated.
Easy to mount, inflate/seat.
Cons:
Puncture resistance. The lightweight case makes a nice lightweight tire but you will definitely puncture at some point. Still worth it IMO. Just have that plugger ready and sealant on tap.
I've been riding these tires for about 2 seasons now and they are the best gravel tires I've ever ridden. They still roll very fast on pave with the full tread and provide great support on loose gravel. The only thing that might be better is to try the new 52mm option - if it'll fit!
I have been using for about a month and generally enjoy the tire and they feel fast on all surfaces. I do question they are 44 as they are less wide on the rim than the 42s I replaced
Went from a GK tire to the standard 44mm Hex. They really last a long time and give great confidence on gravel even at speed descending. Highly recommend them. Have not used them much in chunk but would not doubt they will excel.
Very difficult to install on old non tubeless rims. Good on multi surfaces as long as not muddy. Smooth and fast, good feel and quick steering.
Ok can the gravel tire madness end! I purchased these to see if they compare with the Schwalbe G One RS and the Goodyear Inter tires. I like that the Hex offers 48mm and the thread pattern is very nice. I hope these will end the madness in my head. Nicely done ENVE
Loving my new HEX tires! They perform very well and roll alone smooth as butter. Ten stars if it were possible!
Tire selection for gravel is much more challenging than road. BUT, these make it easy. Ride quality is very supple, and the light weight of the tire complements the G23 wheelset. The tread is very fast for what the tire is which is greatly appreciated for all the mixed terrain riding I do on these. Just purchased my second set!
Good volume/size for the weight. Roll good too.
The Enve Hex gravel tire handles all the gravel conditions I have used it on well. The tread pattern has lower knobs in the center and slightly larger, spaced out knobs on the edge which makes cornering grippy. It rolls well and no punctures yet.
I bought these tires directly from ENVE when they were having a sale last winter. Supple casing, good/effective tread design, smooth rolling and good looking. BUT, know these are super lightweight race style tires with a fragile casing. I found this out in an unfortunate way rolling down a groomed gravel road (read: was not getting rowdy in chunk and chunder) where an errant rock slashed the sidewall of my front tire at speed and I woke up in the dirt with a broken shoulder (scapula and clavicle), broken helmet, and broken Zipp 303 wheel. An expensive (time and money) and painful lesson learned. I, personally, will not be using these again, but for those that do, know what you're buying.
I was looking for the perfect size gravel tire to test my clearance on my Aspero, not 50c and not a 47c (Pathfinder). Then ENVE released the HEX 48c in a nice dark brown tanwall with the perfect tread for my local riding. Tried one (the last one at the time), and it fit great in the back of my Aspero. First thing I noticed was the quality and how lite the tire was. I weighed it against another top brand that I had in 45c and it was significantly lighter. So happy they got more of these back in stock so I could complete my sweet tire setup on my gravel rig. Thanks ENVE!
Couldn’t find a spare Thunderburt 2.1 anywhere to have as an insurance tire to burn at Gravel Locos so saved the Burta for Unbound as planned and ran the 48mm Hex for GL and it was amazing! Probably would have e been even faster if I’d used them at Unbound!
Went from the Specialized Tracer to these tires. If the Tracer is a 5 out of 10, these are an 11. I'm shocked at the difference the change in a tire has done to my gravel bike. Even though its fatter, wider and knobby, it is faster, smother and predictable. I am 6'0" and 170 lbs. I'm riding the 48s with 28 psi. I could ride less PSI, but found 28 psi is best for gravel/ashpault combo. Great job Enve!
