Rebecca Rusch's ENVE MOG Gravel Bike Build: An Adventure-Ready Setup

Rebecca Rusch, the legendary "Queen of Pain" and a long-time ENVE athlete, has long been synonymous with pushing limits in ultra-endurance cycling. With seven world championships under her belt, induction into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, and victories in events like the UNBOUND 200/XL while founding Rebecca's Private Idaho gravel race, Rusch brings unparalleled expertise to any bike build. After a year of intrigue with ENVE's MOG gravel bike, she recently completed her custom adventure build, transforming it into a versatile machine optimized for her Idaho-based explorations. This setup showcases the MOG’s capability for mixed-terrain adventures, blending gravel racing prowess with off-road ruggedness - perfect for someone who's conquered everything from Leadville 100 to the Iditarod Trail Invitational.

Rusch's Adventure Build: Rowdy and Ready

Rusch named her MOG "Bee" for its "fast, light, ripping ride" that "stings" on the trail. Drawing from her gravel pedigree, she prioritized versatility for Idaho's diverse terrain - think fast Flint Hills-style gravel mixed with technical singletrack.

  • Tires: 45mm Width: She opted for wide Maxxis 45mm tires paired with the ENVE G23 wheelset to maximize grip and comfort on loose, rocky, or rooty surfaces. This fits comfortably within the MOG's 50 mm clearance, providing plush rollover without sacrificing speed.

  • Dropper Seatpost: Essential for her adventure style, Rebecca opted for a dropper seatpost to provide greater versatility on technical terrain. This makes the MOG into a drop-bar enduro machine for technical Idaho trails.

  • Handlebar: Flared ENVE Gravel Bar: For control on rough terrain, she chose the flared ENVE Gravel Bar, which offers multiple hand positions and ergonomic flare for descending confidence.
