Road riding has evolved over the last decade. Thanks to disc brakes, wide rims, and high-volume tires, road riders are able to venture from the main road to the backroad in complete confidence.

While brake and wheel technology has driven frame and tire manufacturers to rethink road frame design, we took a close look at the handlebar, your primary contact point on the bike, to reimagine the ultimate handlebar for any road, and any event. Any product that bears the SES nomenclature must deliver a real-world aerodynamic advantage. In the case of the SES AR Handlebar, the cross-section of the bar top has been developed in CFD and proven in the wind tunnel to reduce drag. Hidden cable/wire routing enhance drag reduction while delivering a clean aesthetic.

AR means the handlebar will deliver comfort and confidence over any road surface. Borrowing design cues from our successful SES Aero Road bar, Compact Road bar, and G Series bar, the SES AR Handlebar features compound flared drops that provide a wider stance for technical riding and descending while maintaining easy access to the controls. We fully expect that this bar we’ve dreamt of for years will quickly gain popularity and establish itself as the benchmark for road handlebars.

my 1st carbon bars

upgraded from the stock alloy bars on my LOOK endurance bike. love em. the flare in the drops took a minute to get used to, but now that I have a little over 1000 miles on them, i find them very comfortable.

Enve quality

Swapped out the enve Gravel bar for these, super nice on my enve MOG! Less flare!

Comfy

Bars are the right balance of stiffness with ample road vibration absorption. Very confidence inspiring when descending both in the hoods and the drops.

Terrific all-around bar

I recently switched from alloy bars to carbon and the Enve SES AR Road IN-Route are terrific. I was initially not a fan of the flare, but a bike tech at our local shop convinced me to give them a try. I'm so glad he did, as the flare gives my a bit of room so I don't hit my elbows with my knees when I'm on the drops. Additionally, these carbon bars are comfortable even over choppy pavement where my alloy bars were beating my wrists up.

I've since put these bars on all 3 of my bikes and have not regrets.

Why not make 360mm for female riders?

This handlebar relieved the numbness in my hands. I'm currently using a 380mm handlebar and wish a 360mm option were available.

Great bar!

Bar is great for a road or gravel bike. I've got the 38cm on my road bike and 40cm on my gravel bike.I've got small hands so I really like the top section being more narrow compared to other aero bars. it give a good place to grip when doing really long climbs. The flare is great and these bars feel stiff when sprinting but also comfortable descending over any terrain.

Very Satisfied

I'm really happy with my decision to purchase this drop-bar. The product quality is exceptional! It is extremely lightweight and very nice looking. I went for the completely in-route option so I also purchased the aero stem. However, I haven't been able to install this package just yet because my bike is a Orbea and I need a transition from my top cap to the ENVE spacers. I'm currently working on developing that solution unless once becomes available sooner. I can't wait to see how the final installation looks and feel how much lighter my bike is!

Almost Perfect

Been using these for about 6 months now. I have an old wrist injury that when I use normal aero top bars, especially with a forward sweep, really inflames my wrist. These tops still are a bit aero but narrow and with an effective rearward sweep that doesn't bother me.
However, I'm not sure why Enve decided to go with the flat spot in the drops. That was a fad in the 2000's that rightfully went away and I can't think of another modern bar that does it.
I may keep these but I may I'll probably just switch back to their regular compact bars.

Show me a better bar!

I've used more carbon bars over the years than I care to remember. The Enve SES AR bar is hands down the best I've ever used. The shape promotes supreme comfort for those 100 + mile days on the bike. Just the right amount of flair. Favorite bar EVER!

Love these bars, just wrong size.

Great bars. I had them in 46s for a little over a year. They were too wide. Ordered 42s like a previous set of bars, different brand. I should have gone with 44s. Typical ENVE, top notch awesome quality. Don’t think I’d ever ride anything else.

Nice Handlebars

Easy to install and route cables through. Also was easy to get the brake levers properly placed and for some odd reason even the taping went exceptionally well. While riding I find them to be dead on regardless of hand positions: on the bars, hoods or drops. Wasn’t really sure about the flare of the drops but it works great for me. Absolutely no complaints.

Best I’ve found but not perfect

I really love the amount of flare in the drops and the fact that the hoods are not angled inwards. That’s an uncommon design.

They are the best shape I’ve found for both my road bike and gravel bike, and I’ve probably tried a dozen. The tops feel just perfect too.

I can always find something to complain about though, and I really would prefer a traditional round bend in the drops. The ergonomic shape leaves no margin for error in setup, and it doesn’t allow for subtle changes in hand position. I think the shape of the corners could be made more comfortable too. They feel a bit pointy. Still, this is my favorite bar.

From installation to ride quality, the SES AR ROAD HANDLEBAR tops the list. The install was easy and clean with the cable routing options well-designed and perfectly placed. All of the grip points fit perfectly in the hand and are super comfortable. Best drop bar ever!

Wow, what a great handlebar! I've had trouble sprinting on the drops on my old handelbar because it was too narrow (36mm top, 38mm drops), but at the same time I got used to riding narrow on the hoods. So I was looking for something narrow with a flare and in the end I chose this SES AR road handlebar (38mm top, 43mm drops) which is just perfect for me. On the drops it has two distinct segments, because it doesn't angle at a steady round curve like other handlebars. Upper one has flat angle and is not too flared for aero riding on the drops and lower one is flared for sprinting on the drops. Top is flat, which I prefer, but not stupid aero flat so that you can't grab it, it's very comfy, should be good for long rides. And also it has shorter reach than many other handlebars, which is always a plus if you wanna go for longer stem.
The quality is superb, with great attention to detail - everything is neatly marked, area for hoods' clamps is in the very right place (unlike some other hi-end bars), clever bar end plugs, indents for the bar tape at the top, Di2 and total internal cable routing futureproof.
Needless to say I was able to sprint on the drops no problems with it straight away and it was still not too wide on the tops, very comfy handlebar.
The only negative is its steep price, but it's ENVE, whatcha gonna do :)
